Thinking about a career that makes a lasting impact? There’s still time to apply for Teach West London’s Initial Teacher Training (ITT) programme starting this September - but be quick, applications close on Monday 15th June 2025.
Whether you’re a graduate, final-year student or considering a career change, this could be the first step towards a rewarding future in teaching.
Why train with Teach West London? Teach West London delivers a school-based programme across more than 75+ placement schools in Ealing, Harrow, Hillingdon and Hounslow. You'll be part of a collaborative, high-achieving network, gaining real classroom experience and the confidence to thrive from day one.
What qualification will I gain? You’ll spend one academic year (September 2026 – July 2027) working towards Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). You can also choose to complete a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) with St Mary’s University.
How is the course structured? QTS only is four days a week training in school, and one day of professional development with Teach West London. With QTS + PGCE, it's the same structure as above, plus university-led sessions and PGCE assignments.
What courses are available? All courses are offered on a non-salaried (fee-funded) pathway, with some subjects also available on a salaried route. View available subjects and routes here.
What about financial support? There is generous government funding available – including tax-free bursaries of up to £29,000 and scholarships of up to £31,000 for high-priority subjects such as maths, science and computing. Learn more about funding here.
What are the career prospects? Teaching is a career with clear progression and impact. Starting salaries for newly qualified teachers range from £37,780 to £40, 317 in London. Within five years, many teachers move into leadership roles earning £50,000+ and taking on broader responsibilities. Find out more about teaching salaries here.
